Shimazaki Sake Brewery, Tochigi Prefecture

Fine sake brewed only by locals who specialize in sake to be enjoyed with meals and aged sake!
The brewery is located in Nasukarasuyama, Tochigi Prefecture, an hour by train from Utsunomiya, the center of Tochigi Prefecture, and has been producing sake for a long period of 170 years since 1849.
We continue to challenge ourselves every day to create new sake flavors in our cave brewery, which uses underground water that springs from Mt. Nasu, high-quality raw rice, and the perfect environment for producing long-aged sake.
The name of this famous sake, "Higashi Rikishi," comes from the fact that the second generation owner, Kumakichi Shimazaki, was an avid sumo fan.
