Kamikokoro: Reviving Tradition and Pioneering a New Era
Founded in 1913 by Choju Fujii in Yoshima, Okayama Prefecture, Kamikokoro Shuzo has stayed true to its belief in crafting sake that embodies the natural richness of rice flavor, even as post-war trends leaned toward mass-produced, sweetened sake using the “Sanbai Zojo” (triple-brewing) method. Kamikokoro has consistently stood apart by upholding its dedication to "selling quality."
Guided by the principle, "We may be a producer when making sake, but as people, we are consumers. We refuse to make anything we wouldn’t serve our own family," Kamikokoro strives to craft safe, high-quality sake that stirs a sense of pride in Japan’s heritage. Their mission is to evoke a heartfelt “I’m so glad to have been born in Japan!” with every sip, creating richly flavorful sake that resonates with the DNA of the Japanese people.
