Crafted by a dynamic duo—a youthful president and toji (master brewer), both in their 40s—this sake embodies innovation and deliciousness.

Akita Shuzo Co., Ltd. traces its roots to Kokumanzei Shuzo, founded by Shinsuke Kawaguchi, who prospered as a fisherman and established the brewery under the trade name “Marucho-san.”

Akita City’s Araya district is historically known as the birthplace of Akita’s local sake. Situated along the coast, Araya is a town blessed with abundant spring water, with wells and springs scattered throughout to this day.

Located near the mouth of the Omono River, Araya once thrived as a bustling port, making it easy to obtain high-quality rice from upstream regions. This favorable environment allowed sake brewing to flourish.

Carrying on this proud heritage as the birthplace of Akita sake, Akitahareru continues its mission: to deliver delicious sake to people everywhere.
